Lent Bumps 2025
We had 5 crews racing at the 2025 Lent Bumps, with some very strong campaigns. This week of racing is always very exciting, and also very challenging- we’re very proud of all the work put in by our athletes throughout their races.
Our Third boats both entered the Getting-on-Race aiming to qualify for Bumps. W3 rowed a very strong time but in the face of tough competition did not get on, being the fastest boat to not qualify- Their progress this term has been incredible, as is reflected in their times during this race and others.
Our M3 raced strongly at the Getting-on-Race, qualifying for a spot in the 4th Bumps Divison. They faced tough competition throughout the week, finishing the campaign down 2. The crew worked hard throughout the week, improving through every race
Our Men’s Second boat raced in the second division of Bumps, amidst other M2s and M1s. They had quite a tough week of racing with some fast crews around them, but tackled each day head on making big strides both as individual rowers and as a crew.
Starting at the top of the third division, our Women’s Second boat had a series of very successful races, rowing over at the top of the divison well clear of the other crews, and proceeding to bump up 3 places. On Day 1, following an umpire decision, a techincal bump for W2 was turned into a techincal row-over, meaning a +4 campaign became +3; in light of the achievements and ability of the crew, we are happy to say that the crew will be awarded blades to mark an exceptional week of racing!
Our Men’s First boat raced in the first division, and finished the campaign up 1 following some tough (and exciting) row-overs behind Emmanuel M1, as well as a very speedy bump on Trinity Hall M1 on day 3.
The immense successes of our Women’s side continued into the top boat, as our Women’s First boat finished a spectacular up 4 spaces, climbing from 11th to 7th on the river. W1 delivered bump after bump on Ditton corner, cementing themselves as one of the fastest Women’s crews on the Cam this term. We’re proud to say that following such an incredible campaign the crew has been awarded blades.
This Bumps has brought with it many successes for the club, and we’re very excited to see how our athletes take forwards everything they’ve learnt over the week as we look towards the May Bumps!
Once again, a huge congratulations to our First and Second Women’s crews on their blading campaigns!
