PCBC Triallists 2025
This year Pembroke has been delighted to have four athletes training with the university squad, three of whom who have been announced this week to be racing in the Boat Races.
We wish them all the best of luck and will be cheering them on, whether that be from the banks at Hammersmith or watching online from around the globe!
Jack Nicholas (2021)
Coxswain - Women's Blue Boat

Jack is a 4th year Engineering student.
Jack learnt to cox at PCBC and captained the men's side the very next season in 2022, having stormed his way to M1 at the end of his novice year. This is Jack's first year at CUBC, and we wish him all the best for his Boat Race debut!
Arden Berlinger (2019)
7 seat - Women's Lightweight Boat

Arden is a 4th year PhD student at the Department of Plant Sciences.
Arden learnt to row at Agnes Irwin School in Philadelphia and joined PCBC in 2021 after having taken a break from rowing during her time at Columbia University. After joining the club, Arden rowed in 3 successive May crews, and was overall captain in 2022. This is Arden's second Boat Race, having stroked the women's lightweight crew to victory in 2024.
Matthew Morgan (2024)
Bow seat - Goldie

Matthew is a 1st year PhD student at the Department of Pathology.
Matt learnt to row at Latymer Upper School and has since rowed for Edinburgh University, Thames RC and Sydney RC, trialling for the GB U23 Pairs in 2022. This is Matt's first year at CUBC and whilst he hasn't yet had the chance to row with PCBC, we've been delighted to welcome him to our First Eights Dinner amongst other events.
Molly Foxell (2020)

Molly is a Maths PGCE student, following her undergraduate studies in maths and linguistics.
Molly learnt to row at Lea Rowing Club and was selected to represent GB in the GB v France J16 in 2018. After joining PCBC in 2020, Molly captained the women's side from 2021-2022 winning both University IVs and the W4+ at the Fairbairns cup. This is Molly's 3rd year at CUBC, having stroked Blondie to a win in 2023, and sitting at the 6 seat in 2024. Following a change in eligibity criteria, Molly is no longer able to race in the 2025 boat race. However, she has been training with the squad all year and has represented them in fixtures up till now.
